Postcard Book

This is a scrapbook for my 16 year old son. Some wonderful bookmoochers sent me some postcards with my books. Thank you. My started to do scrapbooking. He used the postcards for his scrapbook that he started at home. He thought it would be a great idea to start a postcard scrapbook and send it to all the people in bookmooch land.

Everyone can add a postcard to the book. Postcard can be of anything or a postcard of the place you live. This really is my son project. Please enjoy the journal. He would like me now to thank everyone who adds to his book.

Celebration of Mermaids

In tribute to my Danish heritage, this BookMooch Journals theme is a Celebration of Mermaids.

The Little Mermaid sitting at Langelinie in Copenhagen, is one of Denmark’s biggest tourist attractions. The sculpture was put up in 1913, and has since then been the symbol of Denmark.

According to the Standard Dictionary of Folklore: Mythology and Legend, Merfolk (mermaids and mermen) are supernatural beings who live primarily beneath the sea.

Mermaids and other female water spirits have appeared in folklore and religions around the world for many centuries. They may be viewed as symbols both of men’s idealization of the feminine and of men’s fear of women. There is also ambivalence in women’s views of mermaids, which may represent subservience to patriarchy, as in The Little Mermaid, yet also embody female freedom and power, as in images of goddesses.

Science has not yet entirely explained away the mermaid who, like the Loch Ness Monster, still lurks on the borders of credibility. As long as parts of the world’s oceans remain a mystery no doubt people will continue to believe in the existence of hidden submarine beings.

You have complete artistic freedom…so be as creative as you’d like and use as many pages as you like, write, scrapbook, stamp, draw, paint, scribble, include multimedia or found objects, whatever direction your inspiration takes. Have FUN!!!

When you are done with this journal, please re-list it on BookMooch so that project participants can follow it. When the book is full please contact me ~ lilylizard ~ to make arrangements for its return.

Reflections on Parenting

A journal for anyone who wants to share their reflections on parenting. Feel free to add your poems, jokes, artwork, and stories. As we all know, parenting has it’s moments of pride, it’s moments of “pull-your-hair-out insanity”, and even it’s moments of sadness; I want to hear about all of it. Please add your BookMooch ID, the date and time of your entry, and your real name (if you wish) to your page. When you’re done, relist it so that others can add to it.

When the journal is finished, please contact me on my BookMooch account: biwasaki Thanks!

This is your time to share with your Bookmooch friends how and why your romantic night meant so much.

What’s Your Top 3?

The idea came from a game played by co-workers to help pass the time while working. One worker would say ‘top 3 ____’ and another would answer with his/her top 3 then say ‘what do you got?’ and the creator of the list would list his/her top 3.

For the journal project, here is how it will work
1. READ – the top 3 list of the last entry

2. RESPOND – to that topic with your top 3
-Please don’t flame the previous person if you don’t agree.
-You might want to email the last user with your response.

3. CREATE – your own topic and your top 3 (or bottom 3, or best 3, or worst 3 etc.) 3 for it.
-Please make a list that is subjective
-Have fun! Add as much or as little art work to prove your point.
-Use count down; list #3, #2, and your #1.
-When the book is mooched from you, please email your topic to the next moocher. This will give them time to compose a response to your top 3.
-Feel free to list a FEW honorable mentions

When full please contact me ID- nedbudge.

-Todd
