Postcards Tell the Story

I love the work of Nick Bantock. If you are familiar with him, you’ll know that several of his stories are told through a series of postcards or letters. I’d like to create a journal of postcards that tells a story. I’ll start with a postcard – a drawing or artwork on the front side, with a note on the back. The person who mooches the journal next will create their own postcard, with a
drawing or artwork on the front and then ‘answer’ the previous postcard with their own note. We’ll continue in that fashion until the book is full.

Please do not alter the work of others!

When finished, please send the journal back to me, Jenny, jfit.

Have fun!!

Postcards to Myself

This journal will be taken apart later and turned into postcards. You’ll use one page per person, though you’re welcome to pass the journal around among your friends and family before sending it on. On one side, address the page to yourself and decorate it how you like. On the other side, write a letter to your future self and decorate it how you like. This idea is borrowed, in a way, from futureme.org, where you can send emails to your future self. Once this book is full, I will take the pages and send them to you. There are two catches, though: first, this is not private like an email to your future self would be. Obviously, later moochers of the journal will read what you write to yourself. Second, I don’t know how long it’ll take this journal to get around and back to me, so I don’t know if you should write to yourself in two months or yourself in five years.

When this journal is full, please return it to me. My email address is dewpie@gmail.com

Unfortunately this journal has been retained by an inactive moocher and so far all attempts to recover it have failed.

Postcard Book

This is a scrapbook for my 16 year old son. Some wonderful bookmoochers sent me some postcards with my books. Thank you. My started to do scrapbooking. He used the postcards for his scrapbook that he started at home. He thought it would be a great idea to start a postcard scrapbook and send it to all the people in bookmooch land.

Everyone can add a postcard to the book. Postcard can be of anything or a postcard of the place you live. This really is my son project. Please enjoy the journal. He would like me now to thank everyone who adds to his book.
