I consider myself a connoisseur of peculiar hobbies, habits, and projects. I once made a cardboard chair that I liked so much I even moved with it to another state. I constantly pick up rubbish on the street to craft wind chimes. I run my car on vegetable oil. I knit socks, but never in pairs.
Contribute something your peculiar hobby, habit, pastime, project, or trait to this journal, then pass it along. Your contribution may be a story, a description, a picture, an artifact, or any other imaginative rendering. I would like to have the journal back when it is full. If your entry is the last please contact me: my profile.

I’ve been a lot of places, but here is a trip I never took. This is a Frommer’s Travel Planner Journal. I bought it at Savers, to plan a trip to Washington DC for the summer of 2007. The trip was canceled. You can read about it and see my notes. I wrote all over the maps for this project, not as part of the trip planning, you can too, use a different ink pen/color than mine. The front pocket has some items, use them as you will. ADD something new. Place your business card in the back or alter a fake credit card, I did. Relabel the tabs, list the states and places you have been. Tell us about your USA or abroad travels. Tell about the trip you never took, or one you want to take. Add a postcard or take a postcard for any reason, any state. Cut up a map and paste. Have fun. Dont alter others work. The front maps and cover are the free zone. Please add a yarn, ribbon or fiber to the elastic strap that keeps it closed.
Pleas return finished book to 8izenuff when you are finished. Please only keep two weeks, dont mooch it if you are too busy. ISBN is TRIPNEVERTOOK Relist it so others can have a turn.

This journal was marked lost in the post in 2009 but appears to have resurfaced.

This is a great project for those who love altered art or scrapbooking. Have you ever found an old photo in a used book? or elsewhere? Maybe you found photos while cleaning up an estate. Do you have a photo of people that you dont know who they are? (and WHY do you still have them, really?) Tell us where you got the photo, guess who they are, make up names and a life story. Please only one Photo/story per moocher, your may use two adjacent pages only. Then pass it on in the two week time frame. Altering other moochers pages is acceptable if room provides. Please don’t be destructive, but instead creative as you add to their stories. Altering other photos or stories needs to be in good taste. Other moochers can reserve the right to not have their pages altered. A Note of DNA = Do Not Alter, must be on the page somewhere, if you don’t want anyone adding to your story or page. Please keep it rated pg-13, I would like to share it with my kids. Please free to decorate the front and back covers. and please add a fiber, yarn, ribbon, or lacy to the spiral binding. Relist on this page only, and return to 8izenuff azmom875 at yahoo.com

My house is your house. Come in. Sit down. What will you drink? Home sweet home. Share your thoughts, images and art as it relates to the place you call home. Your childhood home, the place you live now, where you’d like to live.
This is an altered book that started life as a Childcraft Encyclopedia. Use the words and images in the book or cover them up. Be creative. Think outside the box. Use a few pages or a lot. Draw, paint, collage, stamp, color. Text is okay, too.
Please only keep the journal for 2 weeks before you pass it to another BookMoocher. Please do not destroy, change, or remove someone else’s work.
After you are done adding your art, please put the journal back into this same page I’ve created for it here at BookMooch so someone else can mooch it and add to it. When it is full, please contact me via email to arrange for the journey home.

This journal is full of blank calendar pages; mooch it and add your poems! When the journal is full, contact me (BM username: milano) and I will mooch it back off you.
Please fill this journal with poetry – by a famous or infamous poet, or your own unique creations. You can pick any day, or even 2 or 3 – your birthday, a holiday, a particular poet’s birthday or just any old Tuesday! I’ve also added some colorful blank pages in the front and back for more poems. Feel free to add illustrations or other artwork with your poems, too. Don’t worry if your poem takes up more than one day – there are plenty of days for all.
Also, please do not change or alter anyone else’s entries and keep within the two week mooch window time limit. After you are done adding your poem(s), please put the journal back into this same page I’ve created for it here at BookMooch so someone else can mooch it and add to it, and when it is full, please contact me to arrange its return me.
Most of all, just have fun!

This is a collaborative art book to be created over the pages of one of my old calendars/planners. I’ve started by adding some things to each page. I also made some chunks of pages into big thick pages and some are left as is. Feel free to cut/add/subtract/alter to your heart’s content. Anything goes, just be respectful of each other.

I’d love to see update photos along the way!

This journal was inspired by the book, Thin Places: Where Faith is Affirmed and Hope Dwells, by Mary Treacy O’Keefe, and by my family’s 2004 trip all over Ireland with the Mennonites–the beginning of my new journey with God. I’m including Mary’s book with the journal so that others may read it and then add their own “thin place” experience to the journal. May the signs of the divine become real in your life.

With love and devotion, I dedicate this book as a tribute to the moon in all her aspect. Original Art, favorite myths, memories, etc. M/any moons and other artistic lunacy.
RE: Birthday Books vol 1-41. I was very excited to read about the bookmooch journal project as I usually celebrate my birthday with art/performance art madness related to the number in question. In August I will be a delightful 41 years wild. I have purchased 41 blank journals and am giving each individual themes. When all the wayward art has winged its way home to me, I look forward to a local celebration to share and enjoy these books with friends.

This journal will be taken apart later and turned into postcards. You’ll use one page per person, though you’re welcome to pass the journal around among your friends and family before sending it on. On one side, address the page to yourself and decorate it how you like. On the other side, write a letter to your future self and decorate it how you like. This idea is borrowed, in a way, from futureme.org, where you can send emails to your future self. Once this book is full, I will take the pages and send them to you. There are two catches, though: first, this is not private like an email to your future self would be. Obviously, later moochers of the journal will read what you write to yourself. Second, I don’t know how long it’ll take this journal to get around and back to me, so I don’t know if you should write to yourself in two months or yourself in five years.
When this journal is full, please return it to me. My email address is dewpie@gmail.com

Unfortunately this journal has been retained by an inactive moocher and so far all attempts to recover it have failed.

In this journal, add your drawings, photos, collages, etc. of leaves or leafy things. When it’s finished, please return it to me. My email address is dewpie@gmail.com. It’s to be a gift for a nature-loving artist friend. But please don’t pass up this journal because you don’t consider yourself an artist! Amateurs and even Bookmoochers’ children are welcome to add to this journal.
