Secrets & Musings

Have you heard of PostSecret.com? I thought this could be just another form of letting go…

Once you receive this Journal, feel free to pick one [or more, up to three if you would like] of the multicolored pages and jot down a thought that has troubled you. Perhaps it’s a question that you don’t think you can answer. Or maybe you have a secret that you don’t really want to talk about, but need to get off of your chest. Or possibly you have a quote that has meant a lot to you as you’ve grown up. Whatever it is, choose a random page and jot it down. Then embellish it however you like. Photographs, collages, a simple stick-figure drawing… whatever seems appropriate to you.

You don’t have to sign your page. You do not have to identify yourself at all. Just write whatever moves you. Please keep it to three pages per person, but if your spouse, child, friend or neighbor sees it and wants to jot something down… by all means, let them!

After two weeks, please add the Journal back to your inventory, and send it on to the next author. Then, when the pages are all filled up, please send me [stixanstones] a quick e-mail, and I will mooch it back from you.

Thank you, and enjoy!

-Janell

BookMooch Journal (Deanna)

This a journal on recommendations on books. Books you might think other bookmoochers may enjoy. You can add books that you hated or liked. You can draw a new cover for a book that is already out there or draw a cover for a book you would love to write. You can write about this site and how it help you and about people you meet on this site. My daughter loves to read historical fiction, vampires and teen issues books. You may have a suggestion on a book she would love to read.

A Little Book of Linked Poetry

This is a sort of free-form on the time-honoured renga tradition. Haiku and senryu both are welcome, each poem must be inspired by some aspect of the one preceding it (be it a word, an image or a whole verse).

Please, a single poem per page and write only on the right-side (so, not on the back of another’s haiku), put your name and country on the page of your contribution.

When the booklet is full contact me (user ID seleya) and I’ll mooch it back from you.

I emailed the last person to have this journal but have received no response. It must probably be regarded as lost.

Hope, Love, Faith

Basically, it is a book that is passed around to bookmoochers and each person adds their own alterations to the book within a 1 to 2 week time period and then posts it in their inventory to be mooched by someone else. This process continues until the book is full. When the book becomes full, the last moocher contacts the originated (username: havi13 in this case) and mails it home for the originator to keep. Anyone can do it, so start your own. This BMJournal happens to have a “Hope, Love, & Faith” theme, so every entry is appreciated.

However, there are a few rules:
1) do NOT destroy someone else’s alteration
2) please keep to time limit as much as possible
and
3) HAVE FUN while making the alterations!!!!!

Entertaining the MikWright Way

I picked up this journal called “Entertaining the MikWright Way” at a local used book sale. It is an unused journal on the theme of entertaining. It features many blank lined pages, pockets, and humorous comments and advice on entertaining: “etiquette and advice,” “refreshments and stuff,” “people and stuff.” Participants are asked to add their own pictures or stories related to the topic of entertaining and partying – whether pictures of a wild party you once threw or attended; advice on do’s and don’ts…especially those learned from experience!; maybe a great party recipe or a mixed drink formula that you concocted by ‘accident’ that crazy night in college; a party theme you think might be interesting; or recollections of a party game that got a bit out of hand. Anything related to entertaining is appropriate.

What a Long Strange Trip It’s Been

This is a Bookmooch traveling journal. It is a travel journal published by Ulysses Travel Guides that I picked up at a local used book sale.

The theme for this journal revolves around a story line that I present in the opening entry. The basic idea is this: I win a fictional vacation on a weird game show and embark on a surreal and strange adventure. At the end of this trip I wind up, as all the ‘winners’ of the game show do in a McDonald’s in Hamelin Germany for “debriefing, group therapy and beer.” This is where my fictional character hands off the journal for the next participant to write how their “strange trip” went.

By contributing to this journal you give permission for me to reprint your story, (crediting you as the author) for non-commercial purposes, though you retain ownership of your own story. If there is sufficient interest I might scan or reprint the story for all to read. Of course, if everyone submits their story to the Bookcrossing online journal, I may not need to do this.
