My favorite Marshas (Birthday Books Vol 26 of 41)

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha. There’s Marsha Brady of course. But what about Marsha Heller, Marsha Marco, Marsha Hunt? Or your best friend Marsha whatsherface? Find a Marsha in fiction or history and give her a bio and fan page. Too lazy for research and never met a Marsha? Why not invent one?

When the pages of this journal are filled, please return it to bookmooch user: zenfish. Thank you.

RE: Birthday Books vol 1-41. I was very excited to read about the bookmooch journal project as I usually celebrate my birthday with art/performance art madness related to the number in question. In August I will be a delightful 41 years wild. I have purchased 41 blank journals and am giving each individual themes. When all the wayward art has winged its way home to me, I look forward to a local celebration to share and enjoy these books with friends.

One of These Things Is Not Like the Others

Add four things. This one has fairly large pages, so they should all fit. Use more than one page if you need to. Four things, keeping in mind:

Three of these things belong together

Three of these things are kind of the same

Can you guess which one of these doesn’t belong here?

Now it’s time to play our game (time to play our game).

You are encouraged to sign your contribution, with your BookMooch username and your real name if you wish, along with the date you completed your entry. Feel free to pass the book around to your local friends, who aren’t on BookMooch, as long as you’re confident they will get it back into the system.

After you and your fellow creatives are done adding your art, please put the journal back into this same page I’ve created for it here at BookMooch so someone else can mooch it and add to it, and when it is full, please contact [Tim] who may be reached through his account at BookMooch, to send the journal home.

BM Travel Journal

A TRAVEL themed collaborative journal – mooch it, add 2 – 6 pages of journaling and send it on its way again. Let your imagination roam – space travel and time-travel are NOT excluded! Draw pictures, collage images, add paint and fibres – enjoy! Last person to work in the book needs to email me and I will mooch it back again. Book is hand-bound by me, with a blue-grey-silver colour theme.

Q&A

Basically, I’ve written a question on the first page of the journal. The next person in line uses the next page (or pages) to answer the question, then writes their own question on the next page for the following person, who does the same, and so on and so on until the journal is full.

Questions can be anything at all – from personal questions about the journaller themselves, such as “what are you most afraid of?” or “what’s the biggest secret you’re keeping right now?”, to questions like “what is the meaning of life?” or “what happens to all those socks that get lost in the wash?”. Be creative!

Rules:

– No altering anyone else’s entry

– When you’re ready to send the journal off again, please put it up on this same page so it can be tracked.

– When the book is full, it must be returned to me, photolysis(bookmooch ID). I can be reached at erratically_ at hotmail.com. 🙂

Confessions of a Broken Heart

Do you still think of a lost love? Still secretly keep in contact or wish you could? Do you still dream of them, let them play with your head, repeatedly get your heart broken by the same person? If you have any “confessions” related to a Lost Love that you want to put somewhere but don’t necessarily want to be lectured by your friends about, here’s the place. Hopefully I’m not the only one who could use this journal??

Cool for Cats

All about cats. This journal is for Bookmoochers to share pictures and artwork of their pet cats, but non-owners are certainly welcome to mooch and add their cat-related artwork.

Fairylish

This BMJournal happens to have the theme of fairies and manga, but every entry is appreciated and does not have to follow this theme. However, there are a few rules:

1) do NOT destroy someone else’s alteration

2) please keep to time limit as much as possible

and 3) HAVE FUN while making the alterations!!!!!

Amuse or Advise: Whattaya Know?

My niece is planning for college, but isn’t sure where she’ll enroll yet, or for what. I’m hoping y’all will share some of your hard-won wisdom (or whimsy) with her, a young woman leaving home for the first time- she can be a little sarcastic, but she’s a good kid, and she reads. 🙂

Maybe recommend a book, or a recipe? Or put down something encouraging, or practical information that might help her in a pinch, or a funny story or a joke? A picture or poem, or a pitch for your major (I tell her to become a librarian); the best advice you ever got, what gets you through a tough day. Anything that helped you through college, or through life . . . I rarely see her, so please help me send her off with something really cool.
