Book Quotes – A Journal for Booklovers

I have collected quotes about books and about reading for many years so I wanted a place to collect them all, to share them with others and to get others to add their favorite quotes about books. You can also add or make up your own quotes about why you love books (I did!). Enjoy!

– renarossner

The moocher who requested this journal from Rena did not know about journalling and just included it in a package to another moocher without points so it is not traceable as it has not resurfaced. It must be regarded as lost.

Animals of Life

This journal is dedicated to the animals of your life. Perhaps you had a favorite pet as a child. Did you raise a horse, or perhaps it was a hippopotamus? Did you feed a neighbor’s turkey, Or the neighborhood orangutan?

All I ask is to not to change anyone’s work, or write over it, or cover it up. Keep within the two week time limit, and then post it to have some one else mooch it. When this journal is full, please send it back to Debbie Hoggan (Bookmooch ID: hogganclan).

This journal had been incorrectly listed without the BMJournal tag and thus losing its identifying links. It is now back in circulation under the correct number.

Plain and Simple Journal

This journal, created by Sue Bender, features quotes from her book Plain and Simple, line drawings and color illustrations, and blank space for reflection. A fascination with Amish quilts led Sue to live with the Amish in their seemingly timeless world, a landscape of immense inner quiet. This privilege, rarely bestowed upon outsiders, taught her about simplicity and commitment and the contentment that comes from accepting who you are. The publisher describes this journal as: “Infused with the quiet spirit of the Amish.”

That’s about to change.

This is now a Journal for The BookMooch Journal Project.

Theme: Open. Plain. Simple. (Or, for you rebellious artists, just the opposite.)

Write a note, add a story, add your artwork. Decorate some pages. Don’t have an idea? There’s a quote or image on almost every page to work from.

You are encouraged to sign your contribution, with your BookMooch username and your name if you wish, along with the date you completed your artwork. Feel free to pass the book around to your local friends, who aren’’t on BookMooch, as long as you’’re confident they will get it back into the system.

After you and your fellow creatives are done adding your art, please put the journal back into this same page I’’ve created for it here at BookMooch so someone else can mooch it and add to it, and when it is full, please contact Tim who may be reached through his account at BookMooch [http://www.bookmooch.com/m/bio/ereneta], to send the journal home.

Putting a Face to the Name

I’ve bought an autograph book and I’d like you all to sign it, but there’s a catch – you must add a passport photo of yourself so I can put a face to the name (geddit?). As it passes along we’ll all get to know each other better. And being camera shy is no excuse, you’ll just have to improvise. Disguise yourself, strike a pose, get a pot plant to stand in for you, or dig out one of your old passport pictures. So long as the photo was taken INSIDE a booth, represents you in some way, and is accompanied by your autograph, I’m happy.

The Little Book of Pop CULTure

Another of my “Little Book” journals. This is a place to celebrate all those icons and figures who have a place in our personal pop culture collections, for all those with a cult following. This is not the place for the commercial as such, rather the slightly more undercurrent, the somewhat to the left, a little bit more interesting. Instead of Garfield, think Betty Boop. Rather than Oprah, go with Conan O’Brien.

Please relist here when done and once full return to Snofferol.

Apparently either never sent or lost.

Embarrassments of Life

What is the most embarrassing experience of your life? Did you happen to say something very embarrassing at the wrong time? How about spilling all over your boss’s shirt? Perhaps a burp came out in the front of a group of clients. You must have been embarrassed on that blind date.

Share your most embarrassing moments of life with your Bookmooch friends. All I ask is to not to change anyone’s work, or write over it, or cover it up. Keep within the two week time limit, and then post it to have some one else mooch it.

When this journal is full, please send it back to Debbie Hoggan.

Down in the Valleys of Life

Do you ever have a bad day? Does life give you pits instead of cherries? Did your hair turn out a bit too curly today? Was that next door neighbor screaming at your dog again? Did your pie cook too long? Did your best friend tell a secret she vowed never to express?

If you can say yes to any or all of these, then you have gone into the valleys of life! Share those days (or nights) with your Bookmooch friends, and tell how you climbed out.

This journal is in conjunction with HIGH ON THE MOUNTAINTOPS OF LIFE. Look for this journal as well!

When this journal is full, please send it back to Debbie Hoggan.

High on the Mountaintops of Life

What is your favorite memory of a real high in life? The day you graduated from High School? The day you married your childhood sweetheart? Hearing the first cry of your first newborn? Sending your child to their first day of kindergarten? Sending your baby off to a foreign land? Looking into your wife’s/husband’s eyes and loving them even more?

Share with your Bookmooch friends and tell when you climbed the highest mountaintops of life. This journal is in conjunction with DOWN IN THE VALLEYS OF LIFE. Look for this journal as well! When this journal is full, please send it back to Debbie Hoggan.
