A Wine Journal.

I’ve never been a big wine drinker and I don’t know that much about wine. I’ve always heard that it’s an aquired taste, so I’d like to give it a try. Do you have some good suggestions for me to try, have a favorite winery or a good story? Add a wine label, a picture or let me know what I should try!! Feel free to add what you’d like, just don’t alter the work of others.

I hope you like this journal, and if you would like a copy of it, just let me know and I’ll be happy to scan it and send you a copy. Otherwise, please make sure to re-list the journal after your entry and keep the journal circulating. Much work goes into creating journals and it’s a shame when one gets lost or is kept by someone other than the creator. When the journal is full, please return to Jenny Stafford, jfit

Take as many or as few pages as you wish. Illustrate or add a poem. It’s up to you. Please add your name, BMid and the date, and relist the journal by its number within two weeks of receipt. Keep it circulating – add a note about its availability on the Bookmooch journal forum at:

A History Journal: The Vikings.

I love history and there are several eras that I find especially interesting. The Viking era is one of those. I think of them in their ships going all over the world to explore – how exciting it must have been! This journal is all about Vikings. Share your thoughts in words or pictures. Feel free to use any medium, just don’t alter anyone else’s work. The journal cover that you see on this journal will not be its final cover. The pages actually came from a beautiful wooden-bound journal that I found at a thrift store. I’ve taken the pages out for mooching because the wooden cover makes it so heavy for shipping. This will be a much cheaper alternative – especially for international mooches!I hope you like this journal, and if you would like a copy of it, just let me know and I’ll be happy to scan it and send you a copy. Otherwise, please make sure to re-list the journal after your entry and keep the journal circulating. My favourite taste.

Do your taste buds thrill when you eat a chilli pepper? Does honey make you melt? Or do you need a rare steak to make your mouth water? Whatever taste excites you, share it with us – the more unusual or unlikely the better!

Take as many or as few pages as you wish. Illustrate or add a poem. It’s up to you. Please add your name, BMid and the date, and relist the journal by its number within two weeks of receipt. Keep it circulating – add a note about its availability on the Bookmooch journal forum at:

Language of any stripe

Nations separated by a common language:

Playwright George Bernard Shaw is said to have claimed that

“England and America are two countries divided by a common language.”

For most of us, the differences between American and British English are amusing but of no real consequence, except to make us hesitate when we go travelling (or is it traveling?).
English is such a prevalent language. However there are subtle differences in the use of words. Growing up in London and travelling on the underground (tube) I met quite a number of American tourists and learned that lift became elevator, pavement was substituted by sidewalk etc.. I believe Jamaicans may use the word arm to describe the hand and the opportunities for misunderstandings and misapprehensions are enormous.

Tell us of yours, or those you have encountered. Whether they occurred in English or any other language with which you are familiar.

Please pass the journal on, making your entry within two weeks and posting on promptly. You can advertise its availability on the forum:

nothing special

put in this whatever strikes your mood, I had started it as my own journal, but i never finished it. So feel free to add anything to any page, just try to have it mooched back out within two weeks and email pearlofthestars09@gmail.com when it’s full please.

Some Bookmoochers might find the language in this journal distasteful. It also weighs almost 4 pounds.

Please do not mooch it if either of these factors may prevent you from relisting or resending it.
