June – the leafy month of June.

June is the sixth of a set of journals I am creating to celebrate the months of the year. These will be released month by month.
They are for anything to do with the month: why you like or dislike it, what it means to you, poems, books, artwork, music, songs, photographs, stories:- whatever you are inspired to do.

Put your entry wherever seems appropriate.

Rules:

Don’t alter anyone else’s work.

Keep for no more than two weeks.

Relist promptly.

Be willing to send anywhere it is requested.

When the journal is complete please reserve it for me and I will mooch it back. If pages start to come loose let me know please, and I can mooch it back and remake the book and repair as necessary.

Please see my journalling conditions in my bio.

This journal was retained by a moocher who is unresponsive to emails and inactive. I hope to recreate it this June.

Lost causes.

I like to think that once I have set my hand to something I continue until the task is completed. Often others see this as a form of stubbornness bordering on stupidity, my Aries ram battering its head on an impenetrable wall, an exercise in futility.
Do you have an personal or historical example of supporting a lost cause? Often a moral compulsion will drive the person or group of people to keep on fighting long beyond any hope of victory. Many martyrs are in this category, but also many people who might be regarded as throwing away their life, their freedom, their wealth or their comfort for a cause which is hopeless. Please use as many or few pages as you like to share a personal or historic example with us.

My bio details list my journalling guidelines, please read them!

Do not alter anyone else’s work.

Relist and resend promptly, and be prepared to send wherever requested.

Please get in tounch with me (tennantfamiy:U.K.) if the journal needs repair, or extra pages added, or you cannot make an entry because ‘life’ has intervened. I can arrange to mooch it back or have it sent onwards and returned to you point-free at a later time to be agreed.

This journal was kept by a moocher who has been inactive for a year and does not respond to emails.

Saturday.

This is the sixth in a set of journals celebrating the days of the week. In many languages the name means Saturn’s day, in others Sabbath day.

In the Thai Solar Calendar Saturday is regarded as an purple day. Since the Thai Solar Calendar attributes a colour to each day of the week I decided to use these colours in the journals to represent the days.

What does Saturday mean to you? Does Saturday have a particular significance, a poem it brings to mind, or something visual it brings to mind? Use the pages as you wish, but leave the work of others unaltered please.

If the journal is sent promptly wherever requested there should be no problem with completing an entry and re-listing within two weeks.

If you find you can not do so please re-list, email me and I will arrange to return it to you point-free at a later date.

If it needs repair or extra pages added, contact me and send it back to me. I can rebind and add or repair as necessary. When it returns to me I will scan and upload images to the journal site, for all to see.

Kitty, kitty.

Please take as many pages as you like to tell me about your cats. Photos would be great too. Please relist as soon as you can and email me when it is full so that I can mooch it home.

That’s So Funny!!!

I really enjoy a good laugh! What makes you laugh? Some good cartoons, a comedy movie, hanging out with friends or playing games? Share your favorite cartoon, stories or pictures with us fellow BookMoochers. Don’t alter the work of others, but feel free to add to the endpages. When full, please return to jfit, Jenny Stafford. Have Fun!!

This journal seems to be stalled with its first moocher.

72 things to do, with children, on a wet, windy day, Vol. 2

I wanted to create two very special journals in record time! These journals originally had entries made by invitation only, but now the second copy is available for all journallers to participate.
I made the journals for a Bookmooch journalling friend who suddenly and unexpectedly found herself caring for three grandchildren, domestic upheaval and no computer.
I wanted to think of some way of helping her if I could. I don’t know the ages of the children or whether they are f or m. Please assume they are in an environment that is very rural, without easy access to facilities and shops, and without cash resources. The journal ideas should be to use imagination and things found around one commonly.
So, instead of adding a new journal and sending it on its merry way to arrive in a few year’s time, I invited a small group of BM friends and BMJournalling friends to post or email ideas for the journal directly to me.

Journal 1: XXX (unknown number) things to do (cost-free or extremely cheaply) with children on a wet, windy day.

Journal 2: XXX (unknown number) things to do (cost-free or extremely cheaply) with children on a dry, sunny day.

As usual I created Journal 2 first, and now issuing Journal 1!
Contributions had to reach in a week from my request.
Lucky journallers who are not ‘virtually’ making entries, get two weeks to make entries!

So 72 (and counting) things to do (cost-free / extremely cheaply), with children, on a wet, windy day is born…

Pages can be added as needed, and I will issue it as Volume 1, 2 and 3 as appropriate. Please keep it circulating!

Friday.

This is the fifth in a set of journals celebrating the days of the week. In many languages the name means Frigg or Venus’ day.

In the Thai Solar Calendar Friday is regarded as an blue day. Since the Thai Solar Calendar attributes a colour to each day of the week I decided to use these colours in the journals to represent the days.

What does Friday mean to you? Does Friday have a particular significance, a poem it brings to mind, or something visual it brings to mind? Use the pages as you wish, but leave the work of others unaltered please.

If the journal is sent promptly wherever requested there should be no problem with completing an entry and re-listing within two weeks.

If you find you can not do so please re-list, email me and I will arrange to return it to you point-free at a later date.

If it needs repair or extra pages added, contact me and send it back to me. I can rebind and add or repair as necessary. When it returns to me I will scan and upload images to the journal site, for all to see.

An alphabet of animals

An alphabet of Animals is a journal game.

Following the alphabet strictly use the next block of 4 pages (i.e. two colours) to write, draw, paint, use pictures, describe – an animal whose name begins with that letter.

I have given two examples for each letter in case you are really stuck, but you are welcome to choose your own.

No cheating! I didn’t start with A!

Please relist the journal within two weeks.

If you can’t complete in that time, please contact me by email.

Please be willing to send the journal wherever requested, even if you normally only send to your own country.

Please return the journal if you leave Bookmooch, if you go on vacation, and even if you just want to keep it! Ask me, I can make a copy when it is complete.

Please return to me if it needs repairs.

Can’t see the wood for the trees.

This journal is for anything you are inspired to draw, paint, collage, write about, quote etc. on trees, wood and leaves.
Please make your entry and relist within two weeks of mooching. If repairs or extra pages are needed, contact me and I’ll mooch it back and rebind it. If you can’t make your entry promptly please relist, contact me and I’ll send it to you point free later by arrangement. If you leave please send it on or back to me first.
