1001 Ways to Nourish Your Mind and Body

As part of the BM community, I thought it would be fun to create my own BookMooch journal! “Hmmm, what can I do that might not have been done before?”

So something that really hits close to home is the foreign activity of self-care, self-soothing, and just plain ol’ taking care of yourself! After years of pushing myself too hard, a few years ago, I had a breakdown. Not only had I been hospitalised and in/out of inpatient/residential facilities multiple times for an eating disorder, but I literally had no clue how to relax, nor did I have an identity outside of school, work, and taking care of others. It didn’t click until I finally had to be admitted to Remuda Ranch Inpatient Facility for Anorexia/Bulimia Nervosa; there, they taught us how to take time for ourselves, and cultivate non-competitive and fun ways to rest our broken bodies and minds.

What do YOU do to take time to relax and take care of yourself? Whether you are a student, career-driven, homemaker, mother, father, guardian, athlete, or professional, I would love to read some of your techniques. I’m sure others who participate in this journal would love to read them too! Use your talents to draw, scribble, write, colour, doodle, or WHATEVER! on a page, in order to share your own “1001 Ways to Nourish Your Mind and Body”!

Notes:

  • Please stick to one page in the journal per person- we want as many people as possible to share!
  • Do not change or edit or add to anyone’s entry- they are unique, just like you or I am, so respect their addition to the journal.
  • If you feel up to it, share a little about you…as little or as much as you want! (Don’t forget to share the ways you relax, though!)
  • IF YOU USE THE LAST PAGE IN THE JOURNAL, PLEASE CONTACT ME, AND I WILL MOOCH IT BACK FROM YOU!

Thanks, and TAKE CARE OF YOU! 🙂

-Lily
