Ah, pagans. We’re a musical people. It’s no surprise that our rituals include song, dance, musical instruments and theater! When my son was young, I would delight him with all the chants and songs I knew and make up ones I didn’t. One I made up was “Hecate wants me for a moonbeam to shine for her each night. In every way to be like her and practice magic right. A moonbeam, a moonbeam. I’ll be a moonbeam for her.” He was dismayed when he was older to hear the christian version of HIS song. I laughingly explained that I had stolen it from them, not the other way around. After all, they got easter and christmas from us… and as my gods have always been wiley and adaptable, we’re not above reappropriating whatever pleases us. This book will include humorous adaptations of modern music, traditional pagan chants, and original devotions. If there is a story behind your learning or acquiring these pagan gems feel free to include it.

RE: Birthday Books vol 1-41. I was very excited to read about the bookmooch journal project as I usually celebrate my birthday with art/performance art madness related to the number in question. In August I will be a delightful 41 years wild. I have purchased 41 blank journals and am giving each individual themes. When all the wayward art has winged its way home to me, I
look forward to a local celebration to share and enjoy these books with friends.
